The pump is small and rugged. The tubing comes tightly coiled in the small box and it’s a fight to get it useable. There are no instructions and it is assumed that the buyer knows basic pump operation. I pumped out a pickup truck differential and it took about 40 minutes and I was surprised that it did not drain the battery that much. I pumped out a garden tractor v-twin motor in 10 minutes. The sucker line uses a short piece of regular tubing right at the pump so that positioning the smaller suction line is possible. The small section of tubing does collapse some and I had to keep working with it so the pump would draw fluids.

This is the second pump like this I’ve bought. I use it in the bed mounted turbo application. I’ve used it with a restrictor and without a restrictor on the turbo. Works great either way. This pump is self priming so you don’t even need to mount it below the turbo drain, but I’ll tell you right now that your turbo likes it better if you can get it gravity feeding below the turbo. I no longer have ANY oil dripping from turbo after mounting it below the turbo drain. Absolutely no oil in the charge pipe either. It will self siphon, but it’s not the best solution. My first pump started acting up the other day. I looked at it, and the pump body is just coated in oil, due to my leaky connections. I’m sure the oil got into the electrical stuff.

This is my second oil extractor. I had a competitors brand and this one is superior. I extracted nearly 4 liters of oil in about 20 minutes. I used the suppled oil dipstick tube. No mess, super easy. I really like the supplied tubes. They are good lengths and super pliable, which is important. The quality of this product is very high. Highly recommended.

Powerful pump and nice priced, only problem was with the hose fittings like everyone stated they leak, if only the housing had tapered pipe threads or cut to fit the o-ring for a proper seal there would be no issues with leaking.

Question:

Does an oil extractor work?

IVOOE-JO
09-Jul-2022

Answer:

The oil extractor pump works by sucking the oil from the crankcase through a thin tube inserted in the dipstick opening. A handle is pumped repeatedly to create a vacuum that pulls the hot oil into an easy-to-carry container. It can then be taken to an auto parts store for recycling.

Question:

How does an oil extractor work?

IVOOE-JO
09-Jul-2022

Answer:

Oil extractors pump create a vacuum between two tanks: The full tank and the recovery tank. Once that vacuum exists, the fluid begins flowing to the recovery tank. The principle is the same as siphoning gasoline—suction gets the flow started and the vacuum created does the rest.

Question:

How do you empty an oil extractor?

IVOOE-JO
09-Jul-2022

Answer:

Most oil extractor pumps have a drain plug at or near the bottom. Some come with tubing or funnels to connect to approved containers. The oil is then transferred into that container for transit to a recycling center.

Question:

Will oil Extractor get all of the oil out?

IVOOE-JO
09-Jul-2022

Answer:

An extractor pump does not remove as much oil as the drain method. I used an extractor once and was not satisfied since only about 5-6 qts could be removed. Drain it. The extract tube won't get the last yucky drops out like the drain pan.
